Early in 2013, retired teacher Birgitte Nielsen, with technical support from her husband Jørgen Holtegaard, started the first Peace Education Program (PEP) in Svendborg, Denmark, in conjunction with Denmark’s largest nationwide institution specializing in adult education. PEP workshops can now be offered wherever AOF is present in Denmark.
Peace Day is taken seriously by the district of Streatham in South-West London. For the past few years, The Little Big Peace Event has marked the occasion with a week-long festival filled with community-based events promoting a culture of peace.
Voices for Peace, held on 15th September, was a part of those celebrations. Invited back for a second time to the Little Big Peace Event after the success of the previous year, Voices for Peace combined music with Prem Rawat’s message – a winning combination!

Coming from a very poor family in a remote village with no electricity or sources of clean water, all Purushottam Munda’s activities were restricted to daytime. Before the opening of the Food for People facility in Bantoli, India, he had been physically weak for as long as he could remember. He could never imagine that he would be able to study, even if he got the opportunity. The food available at home was neither nutritious nor tasty, while the work required of him was demanding.

But inner peace can be discovered in any place, at any time, as several young women discovered, when they chose to attend a new course that was offered at the facility.
