Helping Libyans Caught in the Crossfire

libya_mapAs the civil war in Libya rages on, casualties are increasing dramatically, and there is now an emergency need for aid from outside the country. TPRF is in the final stages of a grant agreement with a reliable international relief agency that has a presence on the ground.  This NGO has already begun to deliver trauma medicine to the injured along the border of Libyaand Tunisia.

Preparations are underway for a large-scale operation to deliver medicines and medical supplies from Europe to hospitals in Tripoli, Benghazi, and the Tunisia and Egypt borders.

TPRF has been told that, “For those displaced by the violence and the chronic patients facing a siege-like shortage of critical medical supplies, the needs are great and urgent.”

Supplies have been secured and initial delivery teams are in place, with more arriving next week. What is needed is the funding to transport the supplies from Europe and deliver them to their destinations. The situation is dangerous and constantly shifting, but the need is only increasing.

If you would like to contribute to this initiative, a special option has been added to the TPRF donation page.

News on the unfolding story will be coming in the next few days.
