GRAND BAIE, MAURITIUS, October 19 — Prem Rawat, known also as Maharaji, addressed an audience of 1,350 people at “La Salette,” a new facility in the Grand Baie area.

La Salette is a beautiful six-acre property on which a pavilion was erected for this event to comfortably seat guests who had come to hear him speak.

Ootum Bundhoo, a teacher of French Literature who helped organize the event, said: “This was a barren and rocky piece of land. For this event, in just three weeks, everything was transformed and made beautiful. Many people from Mauritius helped to bring it together. We are blessed to have the most beautiful surroundings together with a perfect climate.

“In Mauritius, there are no large conference center facilities, and in the future, this facility will allow us to invite many to hear this message. Prem Rawat talks with utmost clarity, and people are simply very attracted to that. People respond very positively. In Mauritius, there is a very strong culture of peace, and Prem Rawat’s message has a powerful attraction for the Mauritian people. This facility enables us to invite as many people as we want, when we want.”

The event was held over a two-day period and also attracted visitors from overseas. Janet Adams, a care worker from the UK says: “I am having a wonderful time attending this event, listening to Prem Rawat in this beautiful setting. I am getting all the inspiration I need and a holiday as well. And the facility is amazing. This is the first event on this land, and it’s obvious that people have put in so much effort.”

Hemraj Ramchurran, from Mauritius, said: “It’s been a long time since the last event. This place is marvelous. The atmosphere is superb, and many people were able to attend.”

Premila Ramasawmy, a travel agent from Mauritius, said: “It was magic, this event. A few months ago, this was rough land. We came here to help a few days before the event, and it was transformed. People in Mauritius are already preparing for another event with Prem Rawat next year at La Salette.”
