London, England — The award-winning TV series “Words of Peace” is now broadcast on satellite television throughout the UK and to over 30 countries in Western and Central Europe on Sky (Eurobird). “Words of Peace” is currently on air daily at 10.00 am on Channel 262, the open access channel, with additional showings at 6.00 pm on Saturday and Sunday and at 8.00 pm on Tuesday.

“Words of Peace” is a series of half-hour programmes presenting the unique perspective on the quest for personal peace of Prem Rawat, widely known as Maharaji. The programmes feature highlights from his addresses.

Gordon Richards, a property developer from London, inspired by Prem Rawat’s teaching, volunteered to help launch this initiative. He says: “I felt strongly about bringing Prem Rawat’s message into people’s living rooms. I really love his message. I feel he has something important to say. He shows people how to discover peace and fulfilment. I thought that would make good TV, so I contacted Sky. I sent them a DVD of Prem Rawat giving an address, and they really liked it. They did some research into the background of the charitable organisations that support Prem Rawat’s work. They were pleased with what they saw, and they gave us a half-hour slot.

“It’s hard to say how many people are watching, but we are regularly getting abundant positive feedback. If you surf across channels and then tune into ‘Words of Peace’ on Sky, you can see that his message is one of a kind, very profound. People talk about peace; he helps people in a practical way to find it within themselves.

“It’s comforting for me to know that so many people can see Prem Rawat on Sky TV, that from just a small idea it could happen. It’s been beautiful to be a part of it and to have the opportunity to do something positive. The potential for bringing this message to so many people is phenomenal.

“If you tune in to ‘Words of Peace’ on Sky, you can see for yourself how TV can be a vehicle for something positive and uplifting.”

Prem Rawat travels the world inspiring people to find peace within. In 2005, more than 1.5 million people sought his inspiration and guidance. In July, addressing a distinguished audience of faculty, students and guests at Oxford University, he said: “The resource of the joy, the peace, you are looking for exists within you. You have the tools you need to accomplish the aspirations of your heart, regardless of all external circumstances. My message is not connected to a religion. My message is connected to getting in touch with your heart, to understanding the value and the preciousness of your existence. This is the possibility, the reality, that people have envisioned throughout the ages: ‘Know thyself.’”

The “Words of Peace” series is watched on television in 50 countries and 48 languages each week, including the United States, Canada, South America, Australia and New Zealand. The Brazilian Association of Community Television Channels granted this show its highest award in November last year. In presenting the award, Fernando Mauro Trezza, President of the Association, said: “While many programmes are special, some are essential. ‘Words of Peace,’ which presents Prem Rawat’s message, is one of these unique programmes. . . . The feeling within that Prem Rawat introduces people to is very important for everyone. This programme is a great contribution toward the triumph of inner peace.”

The dissemination of Prem Rawat’s message is entirely supported by voluntary contributions and the sale of related materials.
