Leading Cultural TV Channel Features Prem Rawat’s Message
I-Newswire press release
Santiago, Chile, February 3 – Amid artful and distinguished programming such as the Bolshoi Ballet and “Invitation to the Opera,” viewers of ARTV, a prestigious arts channel in Chile, tune in to hear about the beauty of life within.
The program, called “La Posibilidad” (The Possibility), features the eloquent and heartfelt message of Prem Rawat, an international voice for peace who is known by the honorary title Maharaji.
Prem Rawat has been officially recognized by government, civic, and political leaders throughout the world for his ongoing efforts to share a message of peace and hope with millions of people from all walks of life. Prem Rawat began addressing audiences as a young boy in India and has been asked to share his message of peace in over 50 countries, in such prominent venues as New York’s Lincoln Center and Bangkok’s United Nations Conference Centre.
“La Posibilidad” first aired as a weekly 25-minute segment in the capital city of Santiago and a few surrounding towns. Santiago’s film and TV advertising producer, Eduardo Larraín, an enthusiast of Prem Rawat and also a colleague and friend of ARTV owner Eduardo Tironi, introduced Mr. Tironi to Prem Rawat’s message. Mr. Tironi’s favorable response soon led to an increase in the show’s broadcasts to four times per week. It now airs Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
When two leading cable TV providers merged a few months ago, “La Posibilidad” was offered national coverage and expanded into some 20 Chilean cities. Viewership of “La Posibilidad” climbed to 10,000, and 15 volunteers now help to produce and promote the series.
One organizer of the program, Pilar Alemparte, is the owner and manager of two restaurants in Santiago. She says, “I have been helping to organize this project for the last three years. Every time this program is aired, more and more people have the possibility to hear this outstanding message and to follow up if they are interested. Our cable offering is gaining a wider audience, and every day it is getting better.”
ARTV is the most prestigious arts channel on VTR, which is the largest cable operator in Chile. Its varied programming includes all forms of art, music, history, contemporary topics, and interviews with influential personalities.
The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF), founded by Prem Rawat, spearheads and supports significant humanitarian initiatives throughout the world. Last year, it contributed to organizations such as the United Nations’ World Food Programme to bring relief to victims of widespread famine in Niger, the tsunami in Indonesia and Sri Lanka, the massive earthquake in Pakistan, and Hurricane Katrina in the U.S. Gulf Coast. In addition, the Foundation continues to head food-aid initiatives in India and Sri Lanka, and holds regular free medical clinics in northeastern India.
