Academy Awards Gift Baskets Include “Peace Is Possible” Biography of Prem Rawat
Los Angeles, February 26, 2007 — All nominees who did not win an Oscar received an “Everybody Wins at the Awards” Gift Basket from Distinctive Assets.
Within this basket was the book “Peace Is Possible,” a biography of Prem Rawat by best-selling author Andrea Cagan, as well as materials about The Prem Rawat Foundation's humanitarian initiatives. Each Gift Basket also contained items from such companies as Twentieth Century Fox Entertainment, Celebrity Jets, Gibson Guitars, Caesars Palace, and more. The same Gift Baskets were also given to representatives of the media covering the Oscars, including MTV.com, MSNBC, People.com, Forbes.com, FOX News Edge, Agence France Press, and many more.
For Linda Pascotto, president of The Prem Rawat Foundation, “It is an honor for the Foundation to be the only humanitarian organization whose products are offered in the “Everybody Wins at the Oscars” Gift Basket. This shows the interest of the entertainment community in the scope and breadth of our humanitarian initiatives. A few weeks ago, the Foundation was present at the talent lounge for the 49th Annual GRAMMY® Awards, and we were able to present our initiatives to the Presenters and Performers of the show. Many of them were glad to autograph T-shirts, which are now being auctioned to support our food aid initiative in a tribal area in northern India.
“Since the GRAMMY Awards, we have received numerous offers of support from performers who had become familiar with the efforts of the Foundation. We also are pleased to see that the book ‘Peace Is Possible,’ which a few weeks ago was #9 on Amazon.com, is receiving such a warm welcome in the entertainment community. Several musicians came back asking us for a second copy of the book.”
The Prem Rawat Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization. The Foundation brings food and water to people most in need around the world and helps advance the message of peace of Prem Rawat, known worldwide as Maharaji.
