Other information is protected with state-of-the-art Cisco firewalls, including stateful packet inspection. We also routinely perform proactive monitoring and intrusion detection, and implement denial of service attack mitigation processes. We use Unix-hardened operating system for our servers, which are maintained by a certified security staff.

Online transactions for donations are managed through Z2Systems, Inc. which operates NEON (Non-profit Enterprise Online Network.) NEON also operates under RackSpace managed security, and all financial transaction information is passed through industry-standard secure socket-layer encryption (SSL) as indicated by HTTPS on the secure submission pages, where certificate validity can easily be determined via browser links.

NEON surpasses the newly required PCI & DSS security standards recently being enforced by the credit card industry.

PCI DSS stands for Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.  It was developed by the major credit card companies as a guideline to help organizations that process card payments prevent credit card fraud, hacking and various other security vulnerabilities and threats.
