[En proceso de traducción] Emergency supplies being distributed in Sindhupalchok

Relief supplies funded by TPRF recently arrived in the remote mountain districts of Gorkha and Sindhupalchok, which are among the areas hit hardest by the earthquake.

In Gorkha, 300 packages of supplies were distributed, including sleeping mats, tarps, rice, daal, sugar, salt, and oil. Volunteers working with TPRF’s partner, Premsagar Foundation Nepal, also distributed 110 corrugated galvanized iron (CGI) sheets that residents will use to construct temporary housing ahead of monsoon season.

In Sindhupalchok, which is a treacherous six-hour drive northeast of Kathmandu, 250 packages of similar emergency supplies were delivered. Villagers hiked from hours away to pick up the materials, then turned around to bring them back to their homesites deep in the mountains.

Volunteers in these areas continue to talk to residents to assess challenges, and reports indicate that hundreds of villagers are still in need of supplies such as food and metal roofing.
